Zoe Saldana was born on June 19, 1978 in Passaic, New Jersey, to Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldana. Her father was Dominican and her mother Puerto Rican. She was raised by her mother who lived in Queens. The year 2010 saw her move with her family to the Dominican Republic where they spent for the next seven years.
